Agenda for the week:
- We are continuing our novel, The Giver. The audiobook and digital copy of the text are in the Doc Library on the blog and in GC.
- There is a slideshow in GC that you will work on as you read. The slideshow contains reading questions. Read chapters 6-10 and respond to the reading questions for those chapters.

Agenda for the week:
- We are continuing our novel, The Outsiders. The digital copy of the text and the audio files are in the Doc Library on the blog and in GC.
- There are two slideshows in GC that you will work on as you read. One slideshow contains reading questions and the other contains reading activities. Read chapters 4-6 and respond to the reading questions for those chapters.
- Continue working slides 4-7 of the Reading Activities slideshow. You will continue to work on these slides as you read, and they will be due Friday, May 22.
- Grammar: StudySync Noun Clauses
**UPDATE**The Google Meet to discuss the scholarship application has been moved to 2 PM in order to accommodate the novel/math workbook drive-thru**
to our 8th Honors Graduates! It is almost time to apply for the CJSF Graduation Scholarship. Applications will be available in the CJSF Google Classroom on Wednesday, 4/29 at 8 AM. I will host a Google Meet on Wednesday, 4/29, at 2 PM to go over the application and answer any questions you might have, so make sure you've taken a look at the application prior to the Meet. The link for the Meet will also be pushed out in Google Classroom, so if you do not have access to our CJSF Classroom, make sure you email me to get that info. The scholarship application due date is Friday, 5/8 @ 11:59 PM.
Also, huge shout out to our new 7th grade members! You can also email me if you'd like to join the CJSF Classroom, or you can wait and join at the start of the next school year. You will have to opportunity to apply to be an officer in the Fall. Remember, you must reapply to CJSF each semester in order to graduate with CJSF honors at the end of your 8th grade year.

- Please view the slides show titled "The Outsiders Historical Context" before we begin reading. This is to give you an idea about the setting, characters, and language used in the novel. You only need to view this slideshow.
- There are two slideshows in GC that you will work on as you read. One slideshow contains reading questions and the other contains reading activities. Read chapters 1-3 and respond to the reading questions for those chapters. Begin working slides 4-7 of the Reading Activities slideshow. You will continue to work on these slides as you read, and they will be due Friday, May 22.

- Do the daily challenge in the Ross Classroom each day. This will keep you involved with school & it enters you in the raffle to win new custom Vans!
- Spend 30 minutes outside each day--go for a walk, play some basketball, anything active!

They are all due by Thursday, so manage your time wisely. Spend about an hour each weekday on ELA, the same way you'd spend a class period each day in ELA.
- DA chapters 19 & Epilogue w/study questions (GC)--Turn in your focus questions when you're finished! Yay! You've finished the novel!
- Take the Devil's Arithmetic AR test when you are finished reading.
- Movie Trailer Written Response--complete the writing task in Google Classroom.

- HG chapters 25-27 w/focus questions (GC)--Turn in your focus questions when you're finished! Yay! You've finished the novel!
- Take the HG AR tests when you are finished reading. You need to take both the reading practice and the literacy skills tests.
- Movie Trailer Written Response--complete the writing task in Google Classroom.
